Manitoba Moose


The one and only Manitoba Moose professional hockey American Hockey League. They py Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, MTS Centre.

In 1996 Minnesota Moose relocated north St. Paul, Minnesota, vacated Winnipeg Arena, becoming Manitoba Moose. At time, y member IHL, enjoyed moderate regular season playoff success under coach former Winnipeg Jets player Randy Carlyle.

When IHL folded, Manitoba Moose joined AHL became official Vancouver Canucks. Up joining AHL, former Canuck player Stan Smy became Moose coach. However, later replaced y Randy Carlyle. Carlyle acquired j Anaheim Ducks, Alain Vigneault hired season, before himself being called p Vancouver Canucks. Recently, Scott Arniel, himself former Winnipeg Jet Manitoba Moose, hired coach.

In November 2004, Manitoba Moose unveiled their logo, officially opened downtown arena Winnipeg known MTS Centre.

In spring 2009, Moose played their first Calder Cup Finals against Hershey Bears. They seven series 4-2.
